Playing

What is HEATdle?

HEATdle is a free daily sneaker game. Once a day you roll a colorway: five random colors and materials land on one of nine 3D sneakers. Rarer colors and materials score more, lucky combinations earn badges, and your score is ranked against everyone who played that day.

How do I play?

Tap Roll today's colorway. First your sneaker is picked, then five cards land one by one. Each card is a color and a material, and paints part of the sneaker. After that you can reroll once, swap colors around, share your sneaker, and vote on other players' sneakers in Cop or Drop.

When do I get a new roll?

Every day at midnight UTC (1:00 or 2:00 in Germany, 7:00 or 8:00 p.m. on the US East Coast). Each player gets their own roll, so your colors aren't the same as anyone else's.

What do Reroll and the locks do?

Once a day, after a short ad, you can reroll. Before you do, tap the cards you want to keep to lock them 馃敀: only the others are rolled again, and you stay on the same sneaker. The reroll's score replaces your first one, even if it's lower, so think about what you lock.

What does Swap colors do?

It trades two colors' places on the sneaker, and in your list of cards. It only changes the look: your score and badges stay exactly the same. The first swap each day is free, more are possible after a short ad.

Score

How is my score calculated?

Your score is (color points + badge points) 脳 combo.

  • Color points: each of your five cards has a rarity, from how unlikely its color and its material are together. A chrome sole or a neon holographic upper is rarer than a grey canvas one.
  • Badge points: every badge you earn adds points. The rarer the badge, the more it's worth, from 2,000 up to 200,000.
  • Combo: every badge also adds +10% to your whole score. Three badges make it 脳1.3.
Card rarityChance per cardPoints
Common42%1,000
Uncommon28%3,000
Rare18%6,000
Epic9%12,000
Legendary3%30,000

An example: two Common cards, an Uncommon, a Rare and an Epic give 23,000 color points. With the badges Two Pair (4,100) and Complementary (2,900), that's 30,000, and two badges make the combo 脳1.2: a score of 36,000.

What's a good score?

Half of all rolls score under about 120,000. Around 234,000 puts you in the top 10%, and about 420,000 in the top 1%. After your roll, HEATdle shows how many of today's players you beat.

What are badges?

Badges reward combinations in your roll, and there are over 140 to discover. Some look at the rarities (a Pair, Two Pair, a Full House), some at the colors (Complementary or Triadic harmonies, a full rainbow, all dark or all pastel), some at the materials (Holo Drop, Heavy Metal), and some at the hex codes themselves (words like #BEEF or #CAFE, palindromes, all digits). Your collection is on your account page.

Why do some badges show a match %?

Named colors and flags are matched against a target: a color badge needs one of your colors to look like, say, Emerald, and a flag needs your colors to match its stripes. The closer the match, the more the badge is worth: from half its points at a 60% match up to double at 100%.

How do levels work?

Every day's score counts toward your level (after a reroll, only the reroll's score counts). Level 2 takes 150,000 points, and each level after that takes a bit more than the one before.

Looks, Cop or Drop and leaderboards

Is the best-looking sneaker the one with the highest score?

Not necessarily. The score is about luck and rarity: it doesn't know whether your colors look good together. A clashing mix of neon legendaries can outscore a beautiful tonal colorway made of common shades. Taste is judged somewhere else: in Cop or Drop, players vote on each other's sneakers, and the best-looking ones top their own leaderboard.

How does Cop or Drop work?

You're shown other players' sneakers one at a time: vote 馃敟 COP if you'd wear it, 馃 DROP if you wouldn't. You can vote once per sneaker (and change your mind), but never on your own. The Cop or Drop leaderboard ranks sneakers by their cop rate, adjusted for how many votes they have: 3 cops out of 3 votes ranks below 95 out of 100. Only signed-in players' sneakers take part.

How do the leaderboards work?

The leaderboard has a daily and an all-time view, for the highest scores and for Cop or Drop. Only rolls made while signed in with Google count, so sign in before you roll.

Account

Do I need an account?

No. You can play straight away as a guest, and your rolls are saved on your device. Signing in with Google lets you appear on the leaderboards, take part in Cop or Drop with your own sneakers, choose a display name, and keep your rolls on every device. A guest who signs in keeps their history.

Is HEATdle free?

Yes. HEATdle is paid for by ads. You never have to buy anything: rerolls and extra swaps only ask you to watch a short ad.

I found a bug or have an idea. Where do I send it?

To [email protected]. Thanks!
